<text-1>
Giles Palmer
CEO

A graduate from Durham University with a Physics Degree, Giles moved on to train as an Accountant with Smith & Williamson in 1990. In 1995, Giles went on to spend a year with Lloyds of London as a Project Manager within the financial restructuring of the whole Lloyds Insurance Market with a budget of £50m.

After a spell at Glaxo SmithKline International division, Giles joined Sky Interactive when it was in its infancy. He wrote the early versions of the financial plan for the company, structured most of the commercial deals, and after 2 years, was heading up the joint ventures team which was tasked to do deals with dot com companies in a cheap-carriage-for-equity swap basis. Giles left to start Magpie, the company behind Brandwatch.

Dr Fabrice Retkowsky
CTO

Fabrice joined Magpie shortly after completing his PhD as employee number 5. He is the software architect for the search engine behind Brandwatch, and for Brandwatch itself. He was promoted to Technical Director in 2005.

Ph.D in the `Cognitive Aspects of Java Software Reuse', funded by BTLabs, at the University of Sussex.
M.Sc in `Human Centred Computer Systems', at the University of Sussex. Engineering Diploma in Telecommunications, at the `Ecole Nationale Supèrieure de Télécommunications de Bretagne' (France).

Mark Heeley
Non-Executive Chairman

A graduate of Durham University, Mark was the founder in 1990 of London Advertising Agency Claydon Heeley which was built from scratch to become a significant player in brand advertising and was subsequently sold to Omnicom in 2001. At the time of the acquisition it had 220 employees and clients including British Airways, Sony Playstation, Compaq and Ford Motor Company.

Founder and Non Executive of Improvelinein 2000, this baby of the dotcom era was heavily subscribed by first mover venture capital fever. Key Venture Capitalists were Advent and Alta Berkeley and by the end of 2005, it was sold to its biggest competitor, Homeserve PLC.

Mark became involved with the Brandwatch team….
</text-1>
