Classifiers

The Industry Classifier "knows" the difference between 'Orange', related to the mobile phone company, or 'orange' the fruit.

This is because the classifiers have been trained, using larger data sets of example text, to recognise the chat which refers correctly to the brands and keywords we track.

The Sentiment Classifier works to assign each relevant mention it gets as positive, negative or neutral. Once again, this is performed by machine learning algorithms which have been trained on thousands of snippets of data. The Sentiment Classifiers continue to learn when new or irrelevant mentions are identified.
